Buckner Home hosted a back-to-school event on July 17 at the Alamo Community Center where over 700 backpacks loaded with school supplies were distributed to local children.

Residents across the Rio Grande Valley have noticed empty canals that normally carry thousands of gallons per second to supply cities and farms, but a lower water flow means less push water over long distances (an acre foot fills half an Olympic-sized pool).

This lack of water affects city use of about 280,000 acre feet every year while farms need nearly a million acre feet.
