- ➤ The Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation held its first annual Space Symposium last Wednesday at Texas Southmost College—this event marked a key step in growing our region’s role in the aerospace industry. City of Brownsville
- ➤ At a groundbreaking ceremony on May 22, GBIC CEO Gilberto Salinas announced that the Greater Brownsville Tech District on FM 511 between Old Alice Road and Paredes Line Road will cover 770 acres when complete — the first phase will develop 86 acres with 13 lots and 1.3 million square feet of industrial space. Salinas said the park is expected to interest companies in the space, energy, advanced manufacturing, and possibly AI sectors — further plans will be shared as development continues.
