- ➤ Don Sommer, head strength and conditioning coach, uses NFL-level workouts and one-on-one sessions to make the Vaqueros stronger for game day—head coach Travis Bush says the training builds the team’s unity on the field. KRGV
- ➤ Abram Garcia, a former Palmview star, overcame a bad knee injury and worked hard in rehab to walk on to the UTRGV Vaqueros football team — he said his effort was for his single mother and to show Valley kids they can follow their dreams. KRGV
