  • Chairman Joaquin Spamer announced that RioPlex will host three major events before year's end— a trade mission with 21 business owners on November 13th and 14th and the Mujeres Líderes Binacionales summit on November 20th— followed by a business event with 50 owners from Monterrey on December 1st and 2nd.  Rio Grande Guardian

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Rio Grande Valley Partnership announced that its monthly Commercialization and Investment Tours will be rebranded as the RGV Connect Forum in January, and the program will expand to include regional policy advocacy—traveling across the Valley to unite local leaders and guide state and federal decision-making. Board Member Mari Garcia said the revamped forum will build on the original focus while addressing growth opportunities across many sectors.  Rio Grande Guardian
  • Hidalgo County Judge Richard Cortez said the Rio Grande Valley must change its story to boost prosperity during his 2025 State of the County address at McAllen Convention Center. He listed projects like drainage improvements, a new parking garage, and better roads while urging local leaders and business people to work together for a stronger future—despite challenges like poverty.  Rio Grande Guardian

  • UTRGV lost its Saturday night road conference game 41-17 to #23 Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches—where the strong defense held the Vaqueros to under 20 points and forced two interceptions—and the team now sits at 2-3 in conference play.  KRGV
