- ➤ Texas voters will decide on Proposition 1 on November 4 as it will send $850 million to Texas State Technical College to expand job-training programs and labs to ease the skilled worker shortage. Tony Bennett (president and CEO of the Texas Association of Manufacturers) said the plan will boost job creation and support the state’s manufacturing strength. Rio Grande Guardian
- ➤ Chairman Esteban Guerra said the Port of Brownsville recorded over $12 billion in economic activity in 2023—a 400% increase from 2019—and is nearing completion of a 118-acre business park while a channel improvement project scheduled for 2026 will deepen the port from 42 to 52 feet to boost global trade.
