HEALTH NEWS

  • The Texas Nurse Practitioners Association submitted a proposal to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission under the OBBA Rural Health Transformation Program to let nurse practitioners lead clinics, mobile units, and telehealth services as well as update practice laws — the plan will build on proven models to make care more accessible in rural areas before more hospitals close.  Rio Grande Guardian
  • Two people with dementia were found Friday after being reported missing in Hidalgo and Willacy counties. Licensed social worker Bob Cooper from South Texas Health System offered advice—such as letting neighbors know and using bright clothing—to help families care for loved ones who may wander due to dementia.  KRGV
