Brownsville’s First Friday returns in October with Lucha Libre, live music, and local festivities at Market Square in partnership with ROCA (Reviving Our Cultural Arts) as the event (set for October) brings a fresh cultural twist to the community.

The city of Brownsville is upgrading several parks to improve accessibility and comfort as part of its Parks, Health and Recreation Master Plan + officials say the changes will give residents safer outdoor spaces.

The Rio Grande Valley Emergency Communication District will hold its third Public Safety Wellness Seminar in Mission on Sept.

30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.—the event will highlight telecommunicators and offer wellness tools for public safety workers.
