- ➤ Brownsville ISD is proposing a $460 million bond election to pay for renovations at 39 schools + build a new performing arts center; Mary Garza and Isabel De La Cruz explained the plan at J.T. Canales Elementary School and more presentations are scheduled ahead of the Nov. 4 vote. MyRGV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Brownsville broke ground on its future Public Safety Complex at GBIC Tech Park — located along FM511 between Old Alice Road and Paredes Line Road, where city and state leaders gathered for the ceremony. The complex will provide modern facilities to support public safety services in our community. City of Brownsville
- ➤ On Tuesday night, the Brownsville City Commission moved key community priorities forward by planning a new Public Safety Complex — and by exploring a potential partnership with USL. City of Brownsville
- ➤ The City of Brownsville will host its inaugural Neighborhood Clean Up today at Lincoln Park (2100 University Boulevard) from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. City of Brownsville
- ➤ Cameron County awarded a $750,000 federal grant on September 18th to enhance Laureles Regional Park—planned improvements include a new nature trail, playground, updated picnic sites, and sustainable features as part of a $1.5 million project to be completed by September 2028. Cameron County
