The City of Brownsville will host a free 'Permitting Made Simple' training on Friday, September 12 for residents, contractors, and small business owners to learn the permitting process.

Officials say the session will offer clear guidelines—helping community members navigate permit requirements more easily.

Janet Murguía, president of UnidosUS, met with community groups helping low-income families in the Rio Grande Valley at La Unión del Pueblo Entero in San Juan to discuss federal funding cuts to Medicaid and Hispanic Serving Institutions—she later expressed her concerns in an interview with the Rio Grande Guardian.

The CDC declared today that Chagas disease is now endemic in the U.S.—the parasitic illness from kissing bugs poses a serious risk with symptoms such as fever and fatigue and may lead to heart and digestive problems.
