  • NADBank launched the Water Resiliency Fund today— a $400 million effort to invest in water conservation and new infrastructure for farmers, cities and irrigation districts in our border region— which will match up to 50% of project costs with affordable loans and grants. Local judges and regional water agencies will work together on upcoming projects to improve water management.  Rio Grande Guardian
  • A new Texas law now requires restaurants, suppliers, and distributors to label imported shrimp so consumers can tell if the seafood is local and help protect Gulf coast shrimpers. Local shrimpers like EJ Cuevas and restaurant owner Elda Flores say the rule offers honest labeling — a needed step to support long-held family trades.  KRGV
  • Anna Gaucin becomes the first female police chief at Brownsville ISD after spending over 20 years at the district and teaching in a classroom—she will be officially sworn in on Thursday.  KRGV

  • RGV Tours is offering a bus ride package that includes a game ticket and t-shirt for UTRGV's first away football game in Prairie View today, with fifty fans boarding the bus and student Zaida Valverde (one of 20 winners) among those set to cheer the team. The company will also offer a ride for fans to travel to the game against LaMar University in Beaumont on October 18.  KRGV
  • Today, the Vaqueros play Prairie View A&M at Blackshear Field in their first road game, with Coach Travis Busch expecting a tough contest. High school football excitement continues as the PSJA North Raiders will face the PSJA Bears tomorrow at PSJA Stadium at 7:30 p.m.  FOX RGV
