- ➤ A federal judge blocked deportation flights on Sunday from Harlingen’s Valley International Airport that would have sent 76 unaccompanied Guatemalan children back to Guatemala, ordering they remain in U.S. shelters for at least two weeks + lawyers said returning them could put the children in danger while legal challenges are reviewed. The court ruling stops the planned removals and allows time for further legal safeguards. KURV
- ➤ A U.S. judge blocked the deportation of 10 Guatemalan minors from Harlingen yesterday and ordered that they be removed from planes and held in Refugee Resettlement facilities for at least 14 days. Attorneys said the minors were scheduled for rapid removal and raised concerns that their legal rights were being violated. KRGV
- ➤ Today a new state law gives Starbase leaders the authority to temporarily close State Highway 4 during SpaceX rocket launches — shifting control from Cameron County and affecting access to Boca Chica Beach. KRGV
