CycloBia Brownsville is hosting a free event that temporarily shuts down downtown streets so cyclists, skaters and runners can use the road.

Coordinators are asking for public input until Sept. 12 — this feedback will help decide a new location for future events.

SpaceX launched its Starship S37 and Super Heavy booster from Boca Chica at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for their tenth suborbital test flight and achieved a controlled landing in the Indian Ocean nearly 66 minutes later—marking the first mission to deploy a payload door opening, eight mock satellites, and an in-space engine relight test. The mission provides key data for improving reusability and paves the way for faster development of the launch system.

City officials will hold public education meetings starting in October to explain the program and how residents using two garbage bins might save money by switching to one.

DHR Health opened the Safe H.A.V.E.N.

Forensic Exam Center at its Brownsville campus at 4750 N. Expressway to offer round-the-clock care to victims of abuse and assault. The center will serve Cameron and Willacy counties — working with local district attorney offices and law enforcement to ensure patients are treated with respect.

UTRGV is preparing for its inaugural football game on August 30 and has claimed all 3,000 free student tickets.

The university will offer free shuttle services from the Brownsville and Edinburg campuses—parking plans include a new Edinburg lot with 1,000 free spaces and public tickets going on sale on Friday.
