- ➤ Brownsville is hosting a 'Walk and Roll' event to mark the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act—community members are invited to join accessible activities that honor progress in inclusion. City of Brownsville
- ➤ Brownsville leaders have launched the BRIGHT initiative to fight illegal dumping, graffiti, and trash by holding community clean-up events and beautification projects. The first phase focuses on removing graffiti and adding more trash cans while the second phase will include community art projects — all open for any volunteer to join. KRGV

- ➤ Linde will build a $100 million air separation plant in Brownsville to support future SpaceX operations—officials say the project is expected to strengthen local aerospace supply chains. City of Brownsville

GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The City of Brownsville’s Department of Engineering and Public Works—working with its Street Maintenance Crew—has begun a milling and overlay project on Central Avenue from Austin Road to Billy Mitchell Road. The project will improve road conditions for local drivers. City of Brownsville
- ➤ On August 5th, the Brownsville City Commission met and launched a citywide beautification campaign & set plans to upgrade parks and streets. The commission also honored a fallen service member & paid tribute to his sacrifice. City of Brownsville
- ➤ The Brownsville Municipal Court expanded its facility by opening a new courtroom designed to serve residents better—officials say the addition will reduce delays in processing cases. City of Brownsville
- ➤ Brownsville CIO Jorge Cardenas was honored with the 2025 Service to the Citizen Award for his work serving local residents—his leadership has improved city services. City of Brownsville
- ➤ The Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation has adopted a new Strategic Plan for 2025 to 2029 that focuses on improving quality of life and public health based on input from residents, entrepreneurs, educators and civic leaders.
