- ➤ A man and a woman were in critical condition after an officer-involved shooting in Brownsville on Monday evening—reports show the man shot the woman before he was shot by an officer as they responded to a dispute on the two-thousand block of Coria Street—and the investigation remains ongoing. - ➤ The Texas Senate delayed a vote on a bill to ban all products containing THC—giving hope to opponents and prompting concerns as Heather Fazio of the Texas Cannabis Policy Center said it goes against the governor’s request to limit sales at smoke shops; a companion bill was also filed in the State House. - ➤ Residents can now text RGV 911 in any language during an emergency, Dennis Moreno, assistant director for RGV 911, announced at a recent Lower Rio Grande Valley Small Cities Coalition meeting.
