CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Brownsville Police are investigating a series of vehicle burglaries captured on camera near Austin Road and urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers (with anonymous tips possibly leading to a reward) while local residents (some of whom have experienced repeated thefts) demand increased patrols to restore community safety. - ➤ A 26-year-old man named Raul Rodriguez was arrested after running a red light and causing a three-vehicle crash on July 26th at the intersection of W. University Boulevard and S. Expressway 77/83, injuring a woman and two children—one being in critical condition—and his bond was set at $75,000. ValleyCentral
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Customs and Border Protection officers seized many banned fruits and leaves at the Hidalgo International Bridge on July 24—when a driver failed to declare them—and the driver received a $300 fine while the items were inspected and destroyed. ValleyCentral
