- ➤ Brownsville Police arrested 24-year-old Mauricio Salazar (in Pharr) after new evidence linked him to the fatal stabbing of 23-year-old Gerardo Gonzalez Jr. at the Sunset Memorial Funeral Home parking lot on February 2nd at 2 a.m. and he now faces first degree murder charges. ValleyCentral

- ➤ Local civil rights groups joined a lawsuit challenging the repeal of the Texas Dream Act that provided in-state tuition for undocumented students—Texas AG Ken Paxton had declined to defend the law, prompting groups like the Texas Civil Rights Project, the ACLU of Texas, Democracy Forward and the National Immigration Law Center to file a motion on Tuesday night to defend its constitutionality. - ➤ Today, the County of Cameron will submit a request to the Texas Department of Agriculture for funds to install new water and sewer lines in Colonia Saldivar-Central Estates—work that will benefit 197 residents and connect 41 households while replacing failing septic systems.
