- ➤ Everhome Suites, a 24-room extended-stay lodge, opened in April and held an open house on June 5 with food, music, and Tesla exhibits in Brownsville. - ➤ The Brownsville Navigation District awarded the 2025 Port of Brownsville Scholarship to 34 high school seniors from 17 schools on June 6th—each recipient will receive a $1,000 award upon enrolling in college, university, or technical school. - ➤ UTRGV is reviewing a new policy that ends in-state tuition for DACA recipients and will notify affected students; student Amber Mora and immigration attorney Carlos Garcia say the change may cut off vital access to higher education (Attorney General Ken Paxton called the former law an insult to U.S. citizens).
