- ➤ Brew at the Zoo will take place Saturday May 17th at the Gladys Porter Zoo and is nearly sold out. Regular tickets cost $35 pre-sale — $50 at the gate while VIP tickets cost $100, and all proceeds support zoo conservation efforts with guests required to be 21 or older. ValleyCentral

- ➤ Amazon is building a new delivery station on 13 acres along FM-511 after buying the property last month+ the company has begun clearing land for a planned 62-thousand square-foot facility. Brownsville officials praised the project+ saying it shows the city's growing role as an economic hub in South Texas. KURV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Texas lawmakers passed a sweeping school voucher bill and are moving to fund public education with an $8 billion plan set to roll out today in the State Senate — a measure to support local schools. Senator Brandon Creighton said the bill ties teacher salary increases to years of experience — reduces reliance on untrained teachers from COVID and boosts funding for Special Education programs.
