- ➤ After power outages last weekend affected 25,000 customers due to storm-damaged transmission lines, Brownsville Public Utilities Board advises residents to use surge protectors, disconnect electronics during outages, and build emergency kits before hurricane season begins (the board also suggested flashlights and outdoor generators). - ➤ Cameron County Public Works is offering debris pickup for storm-damaged items from May 13 to May 19 in the Green Valley Farms area. Residents should place vegetative and construction debris along the roadway (do not bag and keep clear of obstructions) to ensure proper collection. Cameron County
- ➤ Pharr Bridge Director Luis Bazan supported Daniel Covarrubias’s proposal for a unified customs agency for the U.S. and Mexico during a meeting with Rep.
