The Brownsville Public Library System is launching Summer Pilot Hours from June 1 to September 30 to extend community access to its resources and programs—this pilot aims to meet residents' needs.

A fire swept through Border Apartments on Media Luna Road around 11:50 a.m., leaving eight families displaced and prompting firefighters to battle the blaze for over four hours—no injuries were reported as investigators work to determine the cause.

Six families were displaced after an apartment fire at the Border Apartments on the 300 block of Media Luna Road, with the incident reported Monday morning — no injuries were recorded despite heavy damage — and the fire marshal is investigating while the Red Cross offers temporary shelter.
