- ➤ The RGV Connect Water Forum took place at Texas Southmost College Performing Arts Center in Brownsville, where local leaders discussed water challenges and solutions (including views from county officials, agricultural representatives, and utilities). - ➤ Valley Metro ridership jumped by about 128,000 from February to March as rising gas prices after U.S. attacks on Iran led more commuters to use public transit. The Lower Rio Grande Valley Development Council attributed the increase to the fuel cost surge. KURV
- ➤ A flesh-eating New World screwworm was detected less than one hour south of the border, and Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller warned that it is only a matter of time before the insect reaches our area; the USDA is sending detection kits to farmers to test sick cattle. KURV
