- ➤ Cameron County is hosting a ribbon cutting today at 10:00 a.m. at Bejarano-McFarland Memorial Park at 235 E. Michigan St. in Port Isabel. - ➤ Brownsville ISD placed Jesus Chavez on administrative leave after a 5–2 board vote yesterday — he had already announced he would not renew his contract and Alma Benevidez will serve as interim superintendent. KURV
- ➤ William Steele will host monthly AI workshops at the eBridge Center in downtown Brownsville to teach business owners how to automate processes — the entry-level session will offer hands-on guidance before specialized classes follow. Rio Grande Guardian
- ➤ South Texas ISD named Sandra Garza Ochoa as its sole finalist for superintendent on Tuesday — she has led Edcouch-Elsa since last year. The board will vote on her contract offer on April 29th. KURV
