A Brownsville family is asking for donations after a fast-moving fire began in a neighbor's backyard and quickly destroyed their home, vehicles, and belongings while Lazaro Campos said his daughter Maria and his seven-year-old grandson escaped safely and a neighbor suffered minor burns as firefighters battled the flames for nearly three hours.

Brownsville police are seeking help to identify two women accused of stealing a cart full of merchandise from H-E-B on Southmost Boulevard as the suspects were seen loading the stolen items into a white Dodge Ram.

Brownsville police investigated a bomb threat at the Friendship of Women shelter on East Price Road using a K-9 unit and EOD team—no explosives were found and no arrests were made as the facility quickly resumed its services.
