- ➤ Brownsville Mayor John Cowen, Jr. said during his State of the City address on March 26 that a Tier One supplier for SpaceX will invest $100 million + a possible extra $150 million to set up shop in the city and create over 100 high paying jobs. He noted the move is part of several projects—including a new industrial park, a public safety complex and improvements at Brownsville-South Padre Island International Airport—that aim to boost the local economy.
