Brownsville port director Guillermo Rico-Leal said over $20 billion in projects are underway at the port during a recent Council for Economic Progress event + he presented his update in Spanish to Index members.

The Port of Brownsville marks 90 years by securing billions in private investment and boosting local job growth while expanding trade through key infrastructure upgrades.

The port is enhancing its facilities, including deepening the Brownsville Ship Channel (to 52 feet) to increase capacity and global competitiveness.
