- ➤ Texas Parks and Wildlife hosted a bilingual screwworm workshop Saturday at Texas A&M offices in Weslaco (teaching residents to quarantine infected livestock amid nearly 800 cases reported in Mexico and cautioning that pets could also be at risk). KRGV
- ➤ Unidos Contra La Diabetes and Methodist Healthcare Ministries have partnered with local faith groups, restaurants and leaders to launch the Blue Zone Communities Initiative in the Valley to reduce diabetes and obesity. The groups will hold community listening sessions and surveys in the coming months — steps toward a healthier future. KRGV
