- ➤ Brownsville is competing in a Texas Monthly contest for a custom Coca-Cola mural that honors the city's binational heritage (highlighting its future with SpaceX and Starbase). Voting continues through February with winners set to be announced in March. KRGV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Brownsville commissioners approved $3.7 million to improve park safety and accessibility. The funds will renovate tennis courts, upgrade playgrounds to be ADA compliant + add new trail lighting, while community meetings begin in March. KRGV
- ➤ Brownsville is renovating its city golf center with a $42,000 upgrade led by the Parks and Recreation team — updating greens, fairways and tee boxes to attract more out-of-town guests and tournaments. KRGV
