- ➤ The Brownsville Chamber of Commerce honored departing Director of Marketing & Programs Danielle Rodriguez today after eight years of leadership. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ The South Texas Builders Association is training construction workers as new enforcement efforts slow projects and workers feel hesitant about showing up. The group helped about 40 people join trade school programs over the past three months while local leaders debate visa proposals. KRGV
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ PossAble Dream Adult High School is offering Rio Grande Valley residents aged 18–50 a chance to earn their diploma with industry certifications. Orientations begin Monday, Jan. 12 (at Pharr and Brownsville campuses) to explain graduation requirements. KRGV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, TxDOT will close Taylor Road between Mile 5 and Mile 4 for a $12 million widening project. School buses and parents heading to Garza Elementary, Sharyland North Junior High, Pioneer High or Wernecke Elementary must find alternate routes until work ends in late Feb or early March. KRGV
