  • On Jan. 1, Team Brownsville changed its name to Madrinas de Justicia after dropping its 501c3 and partnering with New York's Grannies Respond following a Texas Attorney General investigation. The group continues to help asylum seekers by providing food, water and basic necessities.  KRGV

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The City of Brownsville invites residents to recycle natural Christmas trees into mulch for local parks, with drop-offs accepted at Gonzalez Park (34 Tony Gonzalez Drive) and Oliveira Park (104 El Paso Road) through Jan. 9 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  KRGV
