- ➤ Brownsville Public Utilities Board customers will face a 5% water rate increase today, with residential users of 5,000 gallons seeing about a $3 rise in their bills + officials say the higher rates will boost water system upkeep and growth. KURV

- ➤ South Texas Health System doctors warn residents about the dangers of unregulated fireworks, which have recently caused more face and hand injuries. Dr. James Gratton advises against lighting fireworks near dry grass or houses and urges parents to supervise children. KRGV
